Ferne Sherkin-Langer

For the past 15 years or so, Ferne has been working a unique sort of magic in real estate: she has that wondrous gift of finding the perfect home for a client, or finding a perfect buyer for a listed home. Surprisingly enough, she chalks this up, at least partially, to her first career as a paediatric nurse and nursing teacher. “I know that nursing and real estate, to the untrained eye, don’t look like they have very much in common, but in actual fact they do. They both involve taking care of people and helping them meet their needs,” she says. But, although she adored her patients aing career, she found herself drawn more and more to the real estate career she had originally picked up as a hobby: “I wanted this next chapter of my life to be focused on mostly healthy folks.” (Still, she has managed to put her nursing training to use: when a client was recently bitten by a “friendly” neighbourhood cat, she used her first-aid radar to find some antiseptic and bandage it up right quick!)

It’s not just a quick reflex that Ferne has carried over to real estate: she also describes the importance she places on “honesty, integrity and attention to detail.” She is also a born and experienced teacher: “I am most satisfied now when my clients learn the business of real estate from me,” she says, “and when they can tell me how much a house should “go for”, then I know I have done my job well!” Ferne’s priority isn’t just to find you a home: it’s to help you understand the whole process of the real estate market, so that you can make the best decision possible for yourself and your family.

Nina Castle

Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Nina knows all about relocating to Toronto, having done so herself from halfway across the world. After a meteoric rise to the top of the Toronto real estate scene, she’s putting her vast range of skills and to work in helping others find their dream homes. One of Nina’s greatest strengths is in her compelling personality and intelligence, which combine a keen sales mind with genuine warmth and caring. She is always making connections between people, and people gravitate towards her wherever she goes; she’s one of those people who walks into a restaurant anywhere in Toronto and inevitably knows someone.

If you’re looking to work directly with builders to build and customize your fantasy home, Nina’s the one to call. She has long-standing relationships with some of the most exclusive building companies in Toronto, many of whom actually seek her out for advice on layout, landscaping and other aspects of home design.

Nina lives with her husband in Bedford Park, a fantastic area with tons of independent shops and funky restaurants. Her grown son and daughter and her two grandchildren love to visit her and take her dogs for a walk in one of the many parks. (They’re Yorkies, Cutie and Mikey, and they’re very well-behaved!) “I have enjoyed raising my family here,” Nina says, “and building long-lasting relationships with my neighbours and friends.” She trusts you’ll have a similar experience when you move into your new home.
